Using the Internet in Education

Introduction

Educating children is not just about books anymore.  It's about allowing children to experience and explore learning in a variety of ways.  Using the Internet in education is one way teachers can allow their students to explore and experience learning.  Research and virtual trips can be used to inspire students to work hard and become successful in life.  This will help them achieve educational and lifelong goals.
I am hoping that this website will serve not only as a resource for accessing my coursework, but a resource that assists teachers with lessons or questions they have regarding technology in education.  I will continue to post new resources as I find them.

Teachers are the main role in ensuring that students have positive experiences with technology.  We must engage them in Internet activities as much as possible to help them succeed.  We need to support and encourage children to avoid them having negative experiences online.  Although it is difficult with our busy schedules, we must find time to incorporate technology in school.  "Students with limited experiences on the Internet have more difficulty developing positive dispositions."(Castek, Bevans-Mangelson, Goldstone, 2006)

September 7  was my lucky day!  Hopefully today can be yours!

If you are looking for some FANTASTIC ways to incorporate technology into your classrooms, you MUST read this article.  You can find it in the Guarini library database.  I stumbled on it while working on a project.
